Setting New Year Intentions
“If this was the best year of my life, what would have to happen?”
Think about this, and write it down. If you really want to achieve it, you can. There is no greater guarantee of a long, happy, healthy, and prosperous life than for you to be continually working on being, having, and achieving more and more of the things you really want.
- Brian Tracy
This was the theme of our intention board aka vision board that we made during the silent retreat this past weekend, the first time I offered the weekend retreat in January. It was definitely a wise decision to start the year in silence.
When setting intentions, instead of resolutions, it is important to use simple statements in the present tense as if we are already there. We have reached your destination. We are where we want to be in our life.
Afterwards we need to put in the effort to actually achieve it. As Katherine Paterson wrote, “a dream without a plan is just a wish.”
Have a fruitful and productive 2019!
